What are Custom Fields & Assets

The Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) functionality allows you to add or edit content fields of your Station lite assets (posts or post types) or even create new assets (custom post types) altogether.

Custom Assets #

Pages, Posts, Stories, Popups, and even Users are considered to be “Assets” – essentially any piece of ‘content’ is an Asset.

You can create Dynamic Templates using Global Blocks to create custom layouts for all types of an Asset, Assets categorized by a specific Custom Fields, or even by User Roles.

Custom Assets as Categories #

You can also create new Taxonomies (Categories) to filter your regular Content Assets (Posts, Pages, etc) by using the “Reference” custom field. Simply create the desired Category as a new Custom Asset and add a “Reference” custom field (single or multi) and link to the desired assets.

Custom Fields #

The custom content fields let you extend the Station lite posts or pages with the fields that you need, which gives you more control over your content. and ultimately paves the way for complex dynamic websites in Station lite CMS.

You can create all types of Custom Fields for Assets to either ADD more content and context, or allow more ways to FILTER/Categorize your Assets.

Currently you can only add Custom Fields to Blog Posts or to your own Custom Assets.
